I am a grazer! I follow life as it presents itself. I always wanted to teach physics and did that at a community college for 11 years. During that time my interest in meteorology (atmospheric physics) increased, so back to grad school followed by 30 years in the weather biz…teaching, radio, television, publishing and data analysis.

My hobbies seem to grow into minor vocations. Sailing led to commercial boating and my 100 ton license. Scuba diving developed into teaching scuba and artifact diving. That and television led to underwater broadcasting and retrieving the anchor from the Edmund Fitzgerald from the Detroit River.

Growing up in New England introduced me to the Appalachian Trail and the White Mountains. The love of hiking and climbing has stayed with me from the AT to the Bruce Trail in the Great Lakes and now the Continental Divide Trail here in Buena Vista.

The slow life-time move westward brought me to Colorado, where after a few real estate transactions, I got my brokers license. That was 11 years ago. Water is a big item in Colorado and the West, so I developed a GRI water class for the Colorado Association of Realtors and now teach that around the state.

Living in an area surrounded by 14ers, I climb the peaks and hike the trails and have adopted a new section of the Continental Divide Trail to maintain and monitor. I also helped site and build sections of this new trail which is about 17 miles long, most of which is above 12,000 feet. I love it up there.

To keep my weather interests alive, I maintain local climatological data and help the airport develop its weather services.

Most of my time now is spent with buyers and sellers of real estate here in the high country of Colorado. Knowing about weather, water and the mountains, just adds to the fun of it all.
